Take a Ranger Tour

There’s no question that one of the park’s best events is to tour the surrounding Great Smoky Mountains with a knowledgeable ranger. An experienced ranger will be able to take you around some of the most popular parts of the park while pointing out important vegetation and tracking certain animals.

Smoky Mountain Field School

With all different types of fun activities, the Smoky Mountain Field School provides day hikes, workshops and family excursions. Some of the different programs include teaching visitors about butterflies, synchronous fireflies, old-growth forests, salamanders, early settlers, mushrooms, wildflowers, bears, elk, the Cherokee Native Americans and much more.
